Duties include specimen processing, routine maintenance, quality control test performances, and reporting test results. Must function independently in all phases of the laboratory. Experience and skill in phlebotomy, working alone at odd hours, troubleshooting equipment, independent thinking and decisive action in difficult situations is imperative. The scope of patients served includes pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

• Receives, prepares, performs and interprets a broad range of laboratory analysis.
• Performs testing and quality assurance procedures requiring additional expertise and/or advanced technology.
• Reviews and documents test results.
• Performs and records preventive maintenance, quality control and calibrations.
• Coordinates daily technical activities in assigned sections and provides oversight to assigned staff.

Education High school diploma. Successful completion of an accredited medical technologist program. Other Requirements Certification through ASCP or other approved agency
