(This position will work Friday, Saturday and Sunday every other weekend.) The LPN will plan and work with the RN to provide nursing care to acutely ill adult and geriatric patients in the On Track Senior Behavioral Health Unit per all standards governing our facility. The LPN maintains overall departmental operations in accordance with the facilities mission and vision, participates and maintains performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care and provides an environment of patient-focused care, and providing input to our nursing team. The LPN staff nurse will report to the Charge Nurse or Program Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Ensure continual delivery of high-quality nursing care
- Adopt and implement innovative nursing practices to improve our facility
- Ensure that nursing staff remains in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards
- Maintain a healthy, collaborative team environment
- Mentor the MHT and other clinical staff
- Provide direct care to patients, which includes facilitating social and emotional needs, supervising medication schedules and evaluating patient progress
- Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the work day, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current LPN License in the state
- Two plus years’ psychiatric nursing experience preferred
- Current ACLS preferred
